Data format & Results

All the data should be submitted in text files which are encoded with ASCII or UTF-8, and with suffix “dat” and “plt”.

The template files are provided on https://infotrans.dnw.aero/. The computation descriptions and computation results should be filled in the templates correctly. The sequence of columns should not be modified, and the columns must be separated by tab character or space. No empty row is allowed.  

Forces and moments data file:

The rows from 1 to 4 (or 2) identify the columns’ parameter name, and other rows represent the computation values. All results of one AOA (or one CL) are represented in one row.

Cp data files:

Two kinds of Cp data file should be submitted. All the chord of profile must be normalized to 1.

  • The first kind Cp data file: One file represents one profile’s Cp distribution. The first column should give the location in chord, and the second column give the Cp value correspondingly. Two columns must be separated by tab character. The Cp points start at the trailing edge of the profile, from upper side to lower side, and end at the trailing edge.
  • The second kind Cp data file: One file represents six profiles’ Cp distribution using a Tecplot-readable format as template file.

 

Flow field data files:

One file represents the flow field information using Tecplot-readable format as template file. 

Data submitted for Case 1:

  • “C1_desc_short name of the participant.dat”: Computation description.
  • “C1_Cp_20_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=20%.
  • “C1_Cp_35_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=35%.
  • “C1_Cp_45_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=45%.
  • “C1_Cp_55_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=55%.
  • “C1_Cp_65_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=65%.
  • “C1_Cp_75_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=75%.
  • “C1_Cp_Tecplot_short name of the participant.plt”: Cp distribution using Tecplot-readable format
  • “C1_polar_short name of the participant.dat”: Represent AOA and F&M.
  • “C1_field_short name of the participant.plt: Represent surface flow using Tecplot-readable format
  • “C1_field_short name of the participant.plt: Represent field flow using Tecplot-readable format

 

Data submitted for Case 2:

  • “C2_desc_short name of the participant.dat”: Computation description.
  • “C2_Cp_20_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=20%.
  • “C2_Cp_35_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=35%.
  • “C2_Cp_45_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=45%.
  • “C2_Cp_55_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=55%.
  • “C2_Cp_65_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=65%.
  • “C2_Cp_75_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=75%.

  • “C3_Cp_20_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=20%.
  • “C3_Cp_35_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=35%.
  • “C3_Cp_45_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=45%.
  • “C3_Cp_55_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=55%.
  • “C3_Cp_65_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=65%.
  • “C3_Cp_75_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=75%.

 

Data submitted for Case 4:

  • “C4_desc_short name of the participant.dat”: Computation description.
  • “C4_polar_short name of the participant.dat”: Represent polar with AOA and F&M.
  • For each AOA:
  • “C4_Cp_20_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=20%.
  • “C4_Cp_35_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=35%.
  • “C4_Cp_45_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=45%.
  • “C4_Cp_55_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=55%.
  • “C4_Cp_65_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=65%.
  • “C4_Cp_75_short name of the participant.dat”: Cp distribution for BL=75%.
